Cultura de la donación de órganos desde la perspectiva de Madeleine Leininger Armenia-Quindío

Abstract

This research is based on the concept of organ donation taking into account that it is the removal of organs or tissues from the body of a person who has died recently or from a living donor for the purpose of performing a transplant; in 1933 the first transplant was performed, this is how we wanted to carry out an investigation that had as objective: to know the culture about organ and tissue donation in the population of Armenia-Quindío and which was decided to focus from a perspective of Madeleine Lehninger; The myths and beliefs were investigated, the experiences of the culture of organ and tissue donation were described and the donation behaviors were known, taking into account that it is important to have a baseline that allows knowing the main factors that determine the postures, acceptance or rejection of the population towards the donation of organs, tissues and fluids. Methodology: The inquiry was conducted from a qualitative perspective, micro ethnographic, analyzed a social fact and also valued the concepts and / or perceptions of people who in the future may be potential donors and manifested it; the information was obtained through an in-depth interview, which was done to people over 18 years of age, who wanted to voluntarily participate in the research and signed the informed consent. The interviews were analyzed in an inductive manner, with categorizations and triangulation. Results: A qualitative report was made, where it was found that in general there is a deficiency in the knowledge of this topic, which is why it is important to generate baselines to provide education in this regard.

Esta investigación se plantea desde el concepto de donación de órganos teniendo en cuenta que es la remoción de órganos o tejidos del cuerpo de una persona que ha muerto recientemente o de un donante vivo con el propósito de realizar un trasplante; en 1933 se realizó el primer trasplante, es así como se deseó realizar una investigación que tenía como objetivo: conocer la cultura sobre donación de órganos y tejidos en la población de Armenia-Quindío y la cual se decidió enfocar desde una perspectiva de Madeleine Lehninger; Se indagó sobre los mitos y creencias, se describió las vivencias de la cultura de donación de órganos y tejidos y se conoció las conductas de donación, teniendo en cuenta que es relevante contar con una línea de base que permita conocer los principales factores que determinan las posturas, aceptación o rechazo de la población hacia la donación de órganos, tejidos y fluidos. Metodología: La indagación se realizó desde una perspectiva cualitativa, de tipo micro etnográfico, se analizó un hecho social y además se valoraron los conceptos y/o las percepciones de las personas que en un futuro pueden ser potencialmente donantes y lo manifestaron; la información fue obtenida por medio de una entrevista a profundidad, la cual se le realizó a personas mayores de 18 años, que deseaban participar voluntariamente de la investigación y firmaron el consentimiento informado.
