Diferencias En La Resolución De Problemas De Aplicación De Las Operaciones Aritméticas Básicas De Suma, Resta, Multiplicación Y División En Estudiantes De 5º Grado De Educación Pública Bilingüe Y Convencional

In this non-experimental and causal / comparative research, differences in solving problems of implementing the basic arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, were examined in 5th grade students of a public bilingual education (Experimental Group, EG), and conventional institution (Control Group, CG). The fieldwork was conducted in two public educational institutions in Armenia, Quindío. The results revealed the superiority of EG on the CG in solving this type of arithmetic operations. It was concluded that this superiority could be explained from the theoretical framework of psycholinguistic threshold hypothesis, for the second threshold of linguistic competence that EG would have reached.
