The alm of thas study was to evaluate the presence of the drug sulfadoxine (SDX) and sufadiazine (SDZ) in serum infected with confenital toxoplasmosis (CT), in the department of Quindio children. For this purpose, a methodological prededure that enabled the quantification of drugs by RP-HPLC coupled to a diode array detector (DAD) was implemented. Linearity, precision, accuracy, selectivity limit of detection and limit of quantification in order to estimate the degree of confidence that the proposed analysis provides, attributes werw evaluated. Similarly, another secondary attribute of quality and stability of the drug was evaluated in several trials and some solutions to the drug (SDX) werw performed to observe changes in their determination to yhe instrument, to approach an assessment of the correlation between drug levels inblood serum, and hemoglobin levels, and IgG anti-Toxoplasma during treatment of children with (TC). The method was reproducible, with high strength and consistent limits reported by other studies (1, 2) detection.
