The development of oral production through games with fourth graders at a private school in Armenia

The present research is focus on one of the fundamental tools for professors at the
moment of teaching English as a second language, which is the use of games. The problem
that was identified was the lack of participation from students at the moment of speaking in
the second language. That is why the main objective of this action research is the
improvement of the oral skill through the use of different games. The population were two
students ranging in age of 14 to 17 of a public school. The instruments for the data collection
were interviews at the beginning and at the end of the intervention, pedagogical interventions,
observations and field notes. The analysis of data showed good results during the
implementation of the research. There was evidence the improvement in the students not just
in the speaking skill but also in the increasing of vocabulary. Furthermore, it was made a
review of different studies related to the use of games in different context, International,
national and local. In this sense, the conclusion was that the use of different games definitely
creates a good atmosphere in order to improve the oral skill
